Fine Arts Association of Arizona (FAAA)’s SIKSHA initiative conducts musical workshops and educational activities. During Spring 2024 Season, we were fortunate to engage Vidushi Vrinda Acharya, a noted musicologist, accomplished vocalist and Sanskrit scholar to conduct a series of classes called GANAMRUTHAM on Rare Devi Krithis. This course was attended by no less than 30 participants at all levels in their Carnatic Musical journeys.

Vid. Acharya imparted – online - the following in 90-minute sessions over a six-week duration.
    1. Devi Sharada Bhujangam – Viruttham in Kalyani
    2. Poornachandra Bimba – Ragamalika, Rupakam, Muthuswamy Dikshitar
    3. Amba Vani – Keeravani, Adi, Muthaiah Bhagavathar
    4. Pahi Parvatha – Arabhi, Adi, Swati Tirunal
    5. Sri Kamalambike – Sree, Khanda Ekam, Muthuswamy Dikshitar

As a valued member of our Carnatic Music community, we invite you to join the GANAMRUTHAM group and get familiar with these rare gems. The group actively practices the above in preparation for performance at an event named SADHANA in late November 2024 (exact date TBA).

For those wishing to perform at the SADHANA event, FAAA has the following guidance:
• If you enrolled in the FAAA-sponsored Rare Devi Krithis course taught by Vid. Acharya but not active in the GANAMRUTHAM group, please contact Annapurna Ganesh at (480) 241-9447 regarding practice sessions, desire and availability to perform in November 2024.
• If you did not enroll in the FAAA-sponsored Rare Devi Krithis course but wish to learn them: Donate to FAAA $50 (Members), $100 (non-Members). Payments can be made using Zelle to azfinearts@yahoo.com or through the link below . Notations & clean recordings by Vid. Acharya will be provided to you. You are welcome to practice with a teacher and/or the GANAMRUTHAM group.

Carnatic Music Teachers, who either enrolled in the course or secured class materials as stated above: Please feel free to train your students per your own protocols. This is in keeping with FAAA’s long-held objec4ve to promote Carna4c Music education as widely as possible. However, we ask that you not EXPLICITLY share Vid. Acharya’s classroom materials verbatim with those who were/are not part of the GANAMRUTHAM group. Any student not already in GANAMRUTHAM group wishing to perform in SADHANA will be asked to donate $50 (FAAA members) or $100 (nonmembers) each. Payments can be made using Zelle to azfinearts@yahoo.com.
